Do Not Settle For Unpaid Wages

It can be difficult enough to earn enough to survive in California, without having to worry about going unpaid. When you have done your job, you deserve to be fairly compensated. However, it is an unfortunate fact that many workers go without vacation pay, overtime, and even their basic wage as a result of the irresponsibility of their employers.

Confronting your employer about such matters can be daunting. You may worry about losing your job or your chance for promotion. However, you must not allow your employer to coerce or blackmail you into ignoring the issue. You deserve to be paid and it is vital to stand your ground. Furthermore, your employer is not permitted to fire you for demanding the wages you are due.

If you have no luck persuading your employer to pay you the money you are owed, you might want to consider more drastic measures. You could choose to file a claim with the office of the Labor Commissioner. Alternatively, you might think about taking the matter to the superior court in order to pursue a wage claim.
